A former grape grower and wine producer in São Paulo, Ernesto Fornaro arrived at the Cerrado Mineiro in the late 80s, when all by himself he began producing coffee in Serra do Salitre, a noble terroir of the region.
Very meticulous in his production process, Mr. Ernesto brought his experience in the cultivation of vineyards and winemaking dedication towards the land and plant observation such as the holistic view of the whole environment that involves excellence in production, the famous "know-how" that lies between man and the earth that brings origin to the terroir. For his dedication towards quality Mr. Ernesto has won the Specialty Illy Coffee award twice.
