Tropic Coffee Company Ltd is a family owned business founded in 2015 with a focus on supporting farmers.
Gisanga coffee is 100% red bourbon, and is processed using a fully washed method using natural spring water, known as "Theresa's Natural Spring".
Farmers are trained to harvest only ripe coffee cherries from their trees, which are delivered daily to the washing station by bicycle or truck.
At the washing station the cherries are intensively hand sorted and floated to ensure only the best cherries are processed. The coffee is pulped on the same day as delivery and fermented for 6-10 hours in open tanks. It is then graded the following morning and transferrred to sorting tables under shade and transferred to open raised beds under the sun for drying.
