This coffee is named after the local milling facility in Popayan, Cauca.
Cauca borders the departments of Tolima, Huila, Caquetá, Putumayo and Nariño, as well as the Pacific Ocean.
The high altitude, proximity to the equator and volcanic soils make this region perfect for growing high-quality coffee. The land is carefully maintained by small holder famers, usually with plot sizes under 5 hectares.
